Am I the only one who enjoyed this quarantine time? Idon't remember that I ever had this relaxed and peaceful "vacation". I didnt have to do anything, nothing was MUST or TIME LIMITED. I think it's right to say that... this is a global pandemic, the likes of which we've never seen before. It literally spread around the world in a matter of weeks. There have surely been deadlier epidemics in smaller populations, but this one is on a different level altogether, and it's not close to being contained. At the same time, we are connected in ways we could not imagine a generation ago. So, many of us are in a better position to get through this mentally and physically intact.

I've been here almost since CC's inception, and have spent more than I want to realize. And I still get posts that are not allowed by admins. So don't think you are privileged in that regard. hello, in My area can go out from Monday. Drive, visit barbershop, street fair (markets), church... I had very busy drive days at 15/04 & 16/04... Now can rest at home... Cross fingers for "back to normal" after 27/04...

Russia, right? I find that to be very sad. The government allowed going out to public places not because the situation is getting better, but because they dont give a damn. There wasnt even an outbreak of the virus in Russia, its still coming. And they are loosing the quarantine in some areas lol.

Monika is right, and Monika is Russian. Im just living in a foreign country that is now in top 5 countries whose measures are the most successful in ths fight, and for us, from today, they loosen the measures, just because the number of sick people is growing super slow, we only have like 300 cases here (we were also the last eu country to get corona). And i hear from my family and friends who are still in Russia about all the "measures", i hear about the amount of people who ignore quarantine, who dont even believe that COVID exists lol. Some (plenty) people think that its some kind of conspiracy theory, whatever. No need to be a great politician to see the whole picture clearly. The more strict the measures are and the more people follow the rules - the sooner it will come to an end. Russians think they are better than anyone and that they are invulnerable (i know what im talking about since i AM Russian myself and i know the mentality pretty well). Lets talk again, LuckyLilu, in about a month from now, and compare the points of view again. Im happy u are so positive, and i hope it stays the same for u, none of ur friends or relatives get sick, but nowdays we have to be REALISTIC in the first place and do whatever it takes to protect ourselves and people around us. The example of some countries show that very strict measures do work. And its THE ONLY way to fight this disaster.

Well, the problem is not in people. If the government wants to implemet strict measures, it MUST take on all economic expenses. What Russia has now is the quarantine at the expenses of people. Would you be happy if you are stated to stay at home with zero income? Probably not. It is not mentality, it is perplexity of what to do and what to wait.

We are talking about different things here. I was only talking about the mentality of people, lets admit it, there are PLENTY of those, who think this whole situation is not a big deal (just like our friend above). They think its either not that dangerous, or that the situation is already getting better (which is ridiculous). So many people outside, BBQing, going to get their nails and hair done, because its apparently very urgent. Im not talking about people who MUST work.

Completely agree, that careless and negligence are absolutely inappropriate in this situation, But the degree of strictness of measures is pretty controvecial issue. Every region has different situation and measures must be implemented wisely according situation. Of course total lockdown is the simpliest decision but in some regions it is really excessive. Only reasonable and sensible measures will be effective, not strict.

The country I am currently is very poor. Its not like the govt supports people here financially. But people still follow the strict measures and hence there are great results. Im prettu sure everything will get back to normal very soon if the borders will stay closed. But inside of the country life will start again. Because people are disciplined and understand that everything is in their hands. The more responsible ppl are - the sooner they will be able to work again. Everyone is suffering financially but unfortunately there is no other choice

My view is that the factors for less traffic are as you say, number of members without space to be alone, or having to prioritise other spending. I'm lucky that i still have the same employment, but I have friends that aren't so lucky, so I know how hard it is / will be for some. Out of all the times in history when people had to deal with such things, we are lucky to be the generation where we can do this with the max of comfort. We have all the food we want and need (delivery is a call away) or grocery shops are close,a doctor is a call away,plus we have INTERNET ! What other great way to fill our time while staying in than to talk with beautifull girls? Totally agree, as someone who's living on their own, and looking at the same 4 walls, could be a good way to help any mental health issues, though may need to ration my visits based on no tissues being on the supermarket shelves here.
