I can' answer that because all I own is a lowly Martin LX1, the "Little Martin". I am nowhere near good enough to need a $5,000 guitar. I would eventually like to get a Gibson L1 which are no longer made but can be found for around $2,600. Good luck with your guitar shopping.
Honestly, I think you are asking the wrong question.
Musicians and their instruments actually develop a relationship of sorts. In my experience, I would say the guitar you should buy is the one that most draws the music out of you. When you pick it up, it doesn't want you to put it down. There are many guitars out there that are incredible for around the same price points as those Martins. (I personally want to get a Loef guitar https://www.loefguitars.fi/) Buy the guitar that you hate to put down. The sound you produce from that guitar will be far better than buying an expensive guitar for the sake of having one.
A very reasonable Martin copy is made by Saga in the Blueridge guitar line (https://www.sagamusic.com/products/guitars/blueridge/) Yes they are made in China. But wow... they can hold their own against any martin except the customs.
The new V-braced Taylors are quite nice as well.
