Entering an occupied chat
What's the standard etiquette behind entering a chat when someone is already in open chat? Are you reluctant to enter?

My standard is to not enter. I don't like it when someone comes in on mine, so I don't intrude in others' sessions.

I see the benefit for hosts. More chats is better income, especially at the moment when so many hosts complain there are few viewers.
But the best part of this site is that personal touch so as a viewer, I dont do it. I find it annoying if I see a host is free and spend time chatting, then when I decide to go 121 I cannot as someone else joined the chat. Not sure what other viewers hope for when joining an occupied chat! They cant go 121. I guess also with the new breed of camsites where chats with muliple viewers are the normal thing, its to be expected that some viewers come on this site expecting the same
Perhaps CC can change the way it works, and allow viewers to go 121 despite their being other viewers then that would be a good step

I always thought if you were first in, it would be advantageous if you had the ability to go 121, but anyone who entered after you, the button would be greyed out.

For me the annoyance starts when I see the host typing, but I get no message. I usually then confirm by checking on another tab and if 121 is not available, there's someone else in. I usually bounce shortly after.

Hello to all. You sounds so polite and nice, guys :) As a host (if u're interested in) I can say: we're not always have 'our cup of tea' in videochat. Sometimes, it is first meeting and/or guy about leaving. So I'd like If you send message in guest area about videochat. If no response - you know..

My understanding was that the first entering video should be given preference over any subsequent entries. But this was some time back so things may have changed. But in general I wouldn't enter where a host is already in vid. Though it could be she is doing something at another site so ultimately a good reason to speak in text chat first

I have a thought,when you hit yellow chat icon and only the open chat shows up then I take it that she has company,when both open and private are listed the she is alone,not sure if this is right but it is what I go by

I saw this on a chathost's forum. a member had posted a positive comment on her profile page and ended it with the letters OTOFF. I've Googled it to no avail. and every attempt i make to figure out what it means, comes up empty. Anyone have an idea?

There was a host here about 18 months or so by the name of Nere. Disappeared one day, i know sometimes hosts come back with a different account but, if they have, i have never spotted them. If anyone knew the host Nere, have they returned under a different name at all?

I think I remember who you are talking about. It is rare, but sometimes people do return. Just these last couple weeks a couple returned, one hadn't been here for around 11 months, I don't recall how long the other one was. Mainly issues with the war. It does happen, but I generally don't bet on it.

Main problem is if the host creates a new account they cannot message anyone without being contacted first. I'm not expecting that Chris created a new account, but i know some have had issues with accounts and had to start a new one. Was hoping that would be the case but unlikely

Yes, it is unfortunate that hosts cannot follow up to those who used to see them on a previous screenname. I'm sure many members would love to be able to renew visiting a favorite model. But the rule was implemented because some hosts were spamming people they had no connection with, trying to drum up business. The rule definitely has its pros and cons.

And it used to be that members could CCMail other members, but i think that is not possible now either.

However, I would add that one should evaluate exactly what kind of "friend" one is wanting. Online friendship is certainly a possibility. Many have grown quite close to certain hosts. But it is important to remember that for the most part, this is a financial transaction relationship.
Still, true friendship, beyond monetary is possible.
If you are looking for a relationship beyond CC, that carries over into the real world, these things happen, but be aware that they are much rarer (In my unofficial opinion), and would be much more difficult to maintain. So just be cautious. But have fun.

just go to your homepage, then click on manage account, then scroll to bottom and in very small font you will se close account..as simple as this

Just so you know, there are two ways to close your account. One is permanent, the other is temporary and needs only for you to log back in whenever you want to reactivate your account.
If you use the method mentioned below in one of the other replies, you will only temporarily deactivate your account.
If you wish to permanently close your account, the easiest and quickest way that I know is to go to CCMail, address a new message to CamContacts.
and then request a "Permanent Closure" of your account.
That said, I imagine even the "permanent" one can be reopened but you will need to contact CamContacts again and ask your account to be reopened. (I assume this will work.)
